Final Year

This is the year of final certification and the student can become a member of the FULL MOVEMENT FOUNDATION. This has yet to be formed but we are making plans for this to occur in 2010

The final year will provide the opportunity to tackle the difficult cases and those people with special disorders. We will cover such conditions as M.S., M.E., Parkinsons disease, digestive disorders, overuse strains such as tendonitis and RSI, heart malfunctions and breathing problems inherent in the asthmatic. You will see the victim of a serious accident, the person having a disc rupture, the person with the frozen shoulder and how to resolve this very difficult issue.

There will be detailed analysis of postural problems and their effects. We shall study the osteopathic , chiropractic and physiotherapeutic models of treatment with a view to understanding why the failures occur. The student will by this time be engaged in teaching yoga to patients in their own classes or regularly referring patients to a class run by an FMM teacher in the area and thus have the opportunity to examine the attending patients at first hand . During this year especially there will be a major effort to link the physical with the emotional /spiritual.

We shall be studying the rules of mobility as set out by the early osteopathic and chiropractic pioneers, since some of these still have great relevance.

As in the second year there will be opportunities for some students who have demonstrated a detailed knowledge and understanding of the FMM precepts by earlier learning from the tutors to either teach the next intake of students.

Certainly those who are now teaching on the course are the successful therapist who began a few years ago, proceeding through the same process as that upon which you are to be engaged. Many of the obstacles they encountered were self-produced and our job was to help to unblock the thought processes. So ----the therapy learning is a real spiritual journey, it is not just the acquisition of a set of tools. Ask those now teaching!
