Course Outline

The course is split into 3 separate and distinct years. The first year constitutes the FOUNDATION YEAR which all must complete so that the tutors may have the opportunity to assess the capability of each student and her  future needs. The knowledge gained in this year will provide the intending practitioner with the tools adequate to begin in practice, and to treat the great majority of common problems presenting. Whilst we do not wish to encourage this practise it is possible for the intending practitioner , after one year of learning, to simply enter practice and not undertake any further training. If you have good hands, strong motivation and the will to keep working on your own learning it is possible to avoid any further work. But-----there is a better way. You should with our blessing, be able to enter practice at the end of the first year and earn sufficient to pay for your second year of training--we have witnessed this in a couple of the best practitioners.  By definition the basic problems are not the complicated ones that you will encounter at some stage--these are dealt with later.

The second year, which we call the CONSOLIDATION YEAR, will enable the student to gain greater depth of understanding about what goes wrong with the human being. This year should be funded by the income generated from treating patients. At this stage the good practitioner is already working on private patients mostly because is is hard to avoid doing so when your name is passed round as being  able to solve what others have failed to solve. You quickly come to realise that the work you do and the mind-set you endorse is alien to the therapy world--but heavily and willingly embraced by patients who express such  deep satisfaction at being well treated.

The final year will involve lots of clinic time working on patients you supply as well as those the tutors bring. This FINAL YEAR will provide the opportunity for the student to grasp the more difficult issues involved in treating those patients and those difficult conditions. In this year you are going to be faced with lots of bodies in the clinic--bodies that have been in bad accidents and have been written off by others,; you will see simple problems that have been wrapped up by others as being complex--and thus insoluble!!--you will realise fully the extent of the inadequacies of the therapy world which is so formulaec and narrow in its understaning of humanity--you will be able this year to finish the tool box and have enough knowledge to be able to deal with the most complex of musculoskeletal problems.

But----you will also have acquired a mind that says you never stop looking and searching and learning!

Remember this is only an outline and FULL DETAILS are in the relevant year sections of this web site. If you need to discuss any aspect you can attend a workshop and volunteer to be a body and join a group for the day--this is by far the best way of finding out if the process is for you and gives you ample opportunity to ask everything that comes to mind---but mostly it gives you the chance to see the way our minds work and if this fits with your way. Enjoy the process!
