About
Welcome to the FULL MOVEMENT METHOD, Fmm is a unique approach to resolving muscle and joint pains and the attendant immobility and malfunction . It combines ancient wisdom , modern scientific understanding and processes tested over millenia. The web site is also intended to assist the prospective patient in deciding whether to explore our methods ;many patients who come for help are in despair at ever being able to find a solution and many of these havd actually given up looking and were persuaded to visit an fmm practitioner by a happy patient. It is often their meeting a patient who has had fmm that their interest is reignited--this helps them to see that what they have been told about their condition is often entirely wrong. Many who have been told they are beyond help have been badly misled
Here you will find details of the processes involved and an explanation of the content and nature of the training course. The course is aimed at those who wish to consider training as a REGISTERED PRACTITIONER OF FMM .We offer a three year training schedule , each modular year of which can stand alone. The process is flexible and adaptable to your circumstances.
We see teaching and learning as a shared experience . Our desire is to see you progess --we see your learning as part of your path of life and not as some lifeless act like stuffing a pillow full of material!!- we know how people learn and respect your rate of progress--some grasp it right away whilst others simmer for a long time before real understanding arrives. This we are comfortable with!
If you decide to join us you will be engaging in the acquisition of a life-time skill. You will be enabled to help a great many people who are suffering pain-- and will find that many of these take up the challenge of self-empowerment that you offer to them. It is this that makes the process truly unique and it is this which makes treating people in our way such an act of great joy and contentment.Patients usually state that they feel , for the first time, as though someone is INTERESTED in them and their welfare.
This years student intake for 2010 is greater then ever before. Mostly, the course appeals to what we now refer to as “life changers” - those who are seeking more independence in their working lives and often a complete change of direction. Many have been patients and see the potential for fmm and those seeking to be better equipped to deal with people suffering pain and immobility. Most report that the previous therapist failed to both address the problem and to be convincing about the reasons for things going wrong. This just could not happen with fmm as we have no "smoke screen" and no fancy language--we keep to simple straightforward explanations for what goes wrong. In this way we feel that if we can see and feel what is wrong we can say with honesty and integrity that it is probable that we can help but if we cannot find what is wrong then we simply have to say so.
Please explore the details on this site and contact us if you have further questions or would like to enrol.
Fmm is a new discipline--the name full movement method was only applied to the process in 1995. Read more about the history if you are interested in the long-term potential. The therapists who have been through the process of learning the basic skills- and are now successfully in practice -, will be those who will be expanding fmm world-wide over the years, just as has happened to many other relatively modern therapies such as Rolfing and Bowen. Fmm truly addresses the deficiences in all these therapies and embraces solutions to those aspects not well covered.
You should see, then, that this is not just a collection of tools in a toolbox but a complete and detailed modus operandi for solving the most intractable musculoskeletal problems--victims of serious road accidents who have been written off as incurable, those being told that only surgery will cure their back pain--the list goes on. This is our market--it is huge and growing and the most poorly served in the whole medical system both inside and outside the NHS .
